Welcome to Elbow Room Therapy, a psychodynamic counselling service aimed at improving mental health, relationships and overall well being, based in Buxton, High Peak, Derbyshire. Elbow Room Therapy is a caring and confidential space where you can talk over problems and think about ways to approach them. Whether you are experiencing new issues, on going problems or difficulties relating to the past, you are welcome to get in touch.
My name is Jackie and I'm a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have a Diploma in Counselling Practice and I'm a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I'm committed to promoting ethical practice and I adhere to the BACP's EthicaI Framework.
I have worked within the caring professions for over 20 years and feel passionate about helping people to realise their 'life' potential and in doing so improve their overall well being, mental health and relationships. We sometimes struggle to break the cycle of unhealthy patterns and need help to understand what is going on, unravel it and find clarity. Making the decision to have counselling can be profoundly life changing and can help you to reconnect with yourself and others.
'Nothing changes, if nothing changes…’
I work with people regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, beliefs or ethnicity. Everyone who contacts Elbow Room Therapy is treated with equal respect and supported in a non-judgemental way. Support is tailored according to what you most want to achieve and in a way in which you want to engage.
